Located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, we deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.7 FTE (56 hours) every two weeks on the Evening shift, 8 hour variable shifts and every other weekend About this

Unit

The Pediatric Med/Surg Unit has 24 Beds and we deliver care to pediatric patients requiring non-intensive care including specialty populations of pediatric hematololgy/oncology, solid organ transplant, GI/GU & metabolic cases. We also provide general medical surgical pediatric care, trauma, orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgical, & other care patients. Our team works together with the entire interdisciplinary team (MDs, NPs, NSTs, OT/PT, Speech, SW, etc) to deliver high quality care. Fairview offers a nurse residency program for eligible new graduate RNs taking this role with the organization! Read more about this opportunity here: https://www.fairview.org/careers/internships-and-training-opportunities/nurse-residency-program Provides complex care to pediatric patient/families preparing for and undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, pediatric hematology-oncology, urology, blood and marrow, metabolic, and gastrointestinal disorders Performs advanced monitoring using current technology. Manages sophisticated medication and infusion therapies Cares for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit. Demonstrates ability to safely and accurately operate unit equipment. Bed capacity: 24 Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2 to 1:4 Required Qualifications MN Registered Nurse (RN) License Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) 1+ years of RN Experience Will Consider New Grad with Internship/Capstone in Pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications

Acute Care Inpatient RN pediatric med/surg Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Trained, Required Recent experience in care of transplant patients BSN or greater nursing degree

Requirements

Requires a Minnesota Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support certification. Candidates need 1+ years of RN experience, though new graduates with a pediatric internship or capstone are considered.
