Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Willits, California, US. Start date

08/17/2026. 13-week travel assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week. 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:30) in a rural, critical access hospital setting. This interim assignment is for the Med/Surgical unit, requiring current RN licensure in the state of practice and hospital-based experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned patient group according to established standards and the nursing process.
  • Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines using critical thinking and professional judgment.
  • Collect and analyze relevant data; develop and implement a care plan to achieve expected outcomes.
  • Implement the care plan, coordinate care delivery, and promote a safe, healing environment; participate in discharge planning for continuity of care.
  • Provide education to patients and families; communicate health information to the treatment team; collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare team to optimize outcomes.
  • Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the nursing team; maintain compliant documentation and patient safety practices.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California required for this assignment)
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS required by policy; Epic experience required
  • Experience: At least two years of recent acute care nursing experience; Med/Surg experience preferred
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Other: Ability to work in a hospital Med/Surgical setting and adhere to unit policies and patient safety standards
