About the role

Overview Registered Nurse – PACU | Templeton, California, United States Start date: 08/17/2026 | Duration: 8 weeks | Weekly pay: $1,925–$2,079 per week | Guaranteed hours: 32 per week | Shift: 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), with rotating options as needed This travel assignment is in a short-term acute care setting. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct postoperative nursing care in PACU, including continuous monitoring of vitals, airway status, circulation, and neurologic status.
  • Assess and manage pain, nausea, ventilation, hemodynamics, and readiness for transfer to the next care area; collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams.
  • Document patient status and interventions in Epic EMR; ensure accurate handoffs and communication with receiving units.
  • Adhere to PACU protocols, infection control standards, and patient safety practices; manage equipment and supply needs efficiently.
  • Participate in care coordination and patient education as appropriate; respond promptly to postoperative changes or emergencies.
  • May participate in one weeknight call shift if needed and possible 2–3 weekend day shifts (typically scheduled once every 6 weeks).

Requirements

  • Active registered nursing license in the state of assignment (California)
  • BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nursing experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Ability to work a 12-hour night shift and rotate per unit needs; strong critical care and post-anesthesia recovery skills
