Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients in the OR according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
  • Prepare, position, and monitor surgical patients; maintain sterile technique and assist with intraoperative procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, circulating nurses, and surgical technologists to ensure safe, efficient care and proper instrumentation counts.
  • Assess patient status, document findings, and adapt care plans to changes in the patient’s condition.
  • Provide patient and family education related to perioperative care; participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
  • Delegate appropriately and coordinate duties of the health care team while maintaining a safe and healing environment.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California (state of practice).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
  • Minimum two years of recent nursing experience in the operating room or related acute care setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Ability to work in a high-demand OR environment and participate effectively in a travel assignment.
  • Must meet requirements to practice in the listed setting and be in good standing with licensure.
