Overview Registered Nurse - Emergency Department travel assignment in Sonora, California. Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care in the Emergency Department for an individual patient or patient group, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Collect and analyze relevant clinical data, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitor responses, and promptly address changing patient conditions.
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels, and participate in handoffs and discharge planning.
• Provide education to patients and families, deliver health information to the treatment team, and contribute to a safe, healing, and patient-centered environment.
• Document care accurately, maintain patient records, and engage in ongoing quality improvement activities.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice is required.
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR required; ACLS and PALS (American Heart Association or equivalent) required.
• Education: BSN preferred.
• Experience: At least two years of recent, acute care nursing experience; prior ED or acute care facility experience preferred.
• Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced ED setting, demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and effective collaboration with the care team; ability to meet the requirements of a night-shift travel assignment.
