Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, from pre-op assessment through post-anesthesia care.
  • Circulate in the OR or assist in the sterile field, maintaining aseptic technique and ensuring instrument and equipment readiness.
  • Assess patient data, develop and implement individualized perioperative plans, and monitor progress toward expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other care team members; supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate nursing staff.
  • Participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families to support continuity of care.
  • Document nursing actions and patient responses, and uphold patient safety and infection control standards.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in the state of practice (California) — required
  • BSN preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved vendor
  • At least two years of recent nursing experience in the field; acute care and/or OR experience preferred
  • Ability to work the listed shift and on-call requirements, with demonstrated ability to function in a dynamic surgical environment
