Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned patient group according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
  • Collect relevant data, analyze assessment findings, and identify care issues to inform a plan of care.
  • Develop and implement a care plan, administer medications, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Supervise and direct activities of licensed and unlicensed staff as appropriate; delegate duties and monitor performance.
  • Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and ensure safe, caring, and evidence-based care delivery.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and treatment teams to promote health and safety in the clinical setting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in continual quality improvement and safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in California (or state of practice) required.
  • Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Other: Ability to work night shifts and function effectively in a high-acuity emergency department environment.
