Full-Time position in ICU
Under direction of the Critical Care Services Director, provides direct nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process, performs technical nursing functions and upholds the standard of practice of a professional nurse in caring for infant through geriatric patients.
Associate's degree in nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Louisiana RN license required. CPR required. ACLS and PALS preferred.
Additional Experience Preferred
One year RN experience preferred.
Current knowledge of clinical practice.
Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment.
Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of theory, principles, techniques, and practice of professional nursing; of scientific principles and nursing research; of preparation, administration, and actions of medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
Requires an Associate's degree in nursing and a valid Louisiana RN license, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Mandatory certifications include CPR, while ACLS and PALS are preferred along with one year of RN experience.
