Job Details KH Miamisburg | Full-Time | Days Responsibilities & Requirements The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process in providing nursing care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other health care providers. The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values and philosophies, of the organization and nursing departments. Must have excellent assessment skills and be able to make independent judgment of patient care plan. The Registered Nurse reports to the Clinical Nurse Supervisor of the Wound Center.

Attends (or reviews via HealthStream) a minimum of three Town Hall meetings.
Provides appropriate wound care treatments as ordered.
Oversees work of wound care technicians.
Utilizes wound center resources efficiently.
Instructs/educates patients in chronic wound care, treatment and issues related to diagnosis.
Uses proper aseptic and or/sterile technique where appropriate. Instructs patients in infection control.
Assist patients in obtaining resources to support successful wound healing.
Assist patients in insurance qualifications for care.
Works with Home Care agencies, ECF’s, Diagnostics and Physicians for Continuity of Care.
Exercises good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting policies and procedures. Minimum Education
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN or CCNE) if they are a new graduate nurse. New graduatesfrom non-accredited programs may be considered if they had a clinical rotation at a network hospital.
Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred
A nurse who is returning to the acute care setting after five or more years may be required to provide evidence ofsuccessful completion of a refresher course. Required Licenses[Ohio, United States] Registered NurseLicensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse Required Skills
BLS certification
ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice
Wound Care Certification is required within 4 years of hire, or within 4 years of notification for current employees.Maintains current nursing competency in wound care, hyperbaric therapy (if applicable), infection control/blood borne pathogens, and hazardous materials.Working knowledge of EMR / EPICAbove average communication skills. Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio. BLS certification is required, and Wound Care Certification must be obtained within four years of hire.
