The Day Surgery Staff Nurse provides pre-operative and post-operative care for patients of all ages undergoing various ambulatory, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. The role ensures quality and safety by adhering to AORN and ASPAN nursing practice standards.

Our state of the art modern operating rooms and recovery rooms offer the latest in equipment and technology that rivals any large teaching hospital in the region. The Day Surgery Staff Nurse provides pre-operative and post-operative care for patients of all ages, undergoing a variety of ambulatory procedures including endoscopy, minor surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic outpatient procedures and treatments. Care is also provided to inpatients requiring major or endoscopic procedures and to patients entering the hospital as a same day admission. The staff nurse utilizes AORN Ambulatory Surgery Standards and Recommended Practices and ASPAN “Standards of Perianesthesia Nursing Practice” as references to ensure quality, safety and appropriateness of care for the patient.
