About the role

The intern will assist Emergency Services clients with housing search and stabilization caseloads. Additionally, they will conduct research on rental resources and landlords under the guidance of the outreach leadership team.

This position is non-essential in the event of weather or other emergencies and will work 100% on site. SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Purpose and benefit of internship to the program/intern

The Clinical Intern, working under the direction of the outreach leadership team, will work with Emergency Services clients on aspects of the Housing Search and Housing Stabilization Caseload, and will work on other projects as assigned, including research regarding landlord and other rental resources. The Clinical Intern will receive supervision from the clinical supervisor, and will bring issues of clinical import or client interaction to the Clinical Supervisor’s attention.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING: REQUIRED: · Current enrollment working toward Clinical Master’s Degree · Bachelor’s in a social science field · Good written and verbal communication skills, good internet and email etiquette · Good computer skills, particularly in internet research and MS Office, including Excel KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: · High degree of cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with diverse people and situations · Knowledge of and strong commitment to harm reduction philosophy, principles and practices PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS: REQUIRED: · Ability to respond quickly to crisis · Ability to access public transportation · Ability to access different building locations and program sites · Ability to sit for long periods of time and use computer, calculator, fax, copier and other office equipment · Ability to walk up to two (2) miles at time on city streets
