The CRNA plans and administers anesthesia and related care for diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical, or obstetrical procedures. They are responsible for adjusting anesthetic plans based on patient response and ensuring safety during care transfers.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner–Nurse Anesthetist in the State of Virginia. Current certification or recertification as an active, practicing nurse anesthetist as granted by the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Maintain current American Heart Association (AHA) approved BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Requires graduation from accredited professional nursing and nurse anesthesia programs. Must hold current RN and Nurse Practitioner–Nurse Anesthetist licensure in Virginia, NBCRNA certification, and AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
