About the role

The nurse provides comprehensive patient assessments and coordinates safe, timely care plans for patients in the Neurology Unit. They are also responsible for patient and family education and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

  • What you will do: Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. Coordinates patient plan of care to assure interventions are consistent, safe, timely and appropriate. Communicates clearly and effectively with all customers, in person, on the phone and in writing. Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Participates in evaluating quality and effectiveness of nursing practice by participating in quality improvement initiatives. Maintains professional knowledge in current nursing practice standards, laws and regulations.

Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate's degree or BSN in nursing and a current Illinois nursing license. Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
