How you’ll contribute
Perform phlebotomy duties as required, to include venipuncture and capillary techniques, using standard equipment such as vacutainer tubes and sleeves, tourniquets, syringes and butterfly needles.
Assure that requisition includes patient demographics and accurate required billing information.
Transcribe physician orders
Facilitate the unobserved collection of urine specimens. Interact directly with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, allay fears, and elicit cooperation.
Process, label, and store specimen samples for subsequent analysis.
Perform and document various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations.
Perform Med-Competence testing.
Enter waived testing results into the LIS utilizing the manual entry mode.
Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Perform light cleaning of work area
Perform specialized collection as requested.
Occasionally deliver or pick up specimens outside of the laboratory.

High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
2 years of College or an Associate's Degree is Preferred
Experience: 3 Years or more of lab related experience to include 3 months practicum gained in clinical, hospital or lab setting.
Prefer prior waived testing experience.
Certifications: State MA-P (Medical Assistant Phlebotomist) or MA-C (Medical Assistant Certified)
