Job Description

SCPOPE: Delivery of comprehensive navigation services to cancer patients, their families and caregivers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Conduct navigation program intake assessment for all new patients to include an assessment of patient’s medical needs, psychosocial needs, literacy levels, financial concerns and barriers to care. 2. Facilitate and implement interventions to remove barriers and improve access to care 3. Provide education to patients, families and caregivers related to their cancer, cancer center support services, clinical trial information, resource referrals, genetic counseling services and other aspects of optimizing wellness. 4. Advocate for and empower patients to become partners in their cancer care. When appropriate, attend office visits with patient to facilitate patient understanding, improve communication, and improve adherence to care recommendations. QULAIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse Experience in oncology or related field through previous job, internship or volunteer program. Active Louisiana Licensed RN, BSN, and OCN preferred CPR

Requirements

Requires a Registered Nurse license in Louisiana and a BSN, with OCN certification preferred. Candidates should have experience in oncology or a related field through professional work, internships, or volunteering.
