Job Description

Summary: Description: Job Summary: MRI Technologists are responsible to perform high quality MRI scans according to department protocols; under the MRI Technologists are responsible to perform high quality MRI scans according to department protocols; under the supervision of a qualified Physician for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Safety is the number one priority in MRI; therefore the technologist must screen the patient and anyone else before they can enter the magnetic field. The technologist provides direct patient care for all ages of patients. The technologist is to provide very good customer service; that is to treat every patient with respect, courtesy and explain the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work together with others providing a positive work environment. The technologists are responsible to provide a safe environment for the patients, fellow employees and themselves. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs) Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate. WORKING CONDITIONS: General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure. Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. May be scheduled as needed including overtime EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Vocational Technical Degree in Radiology Technology (Required) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 1 - 2 years MRI (Preferred) CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES: Required Certifications/Licensures: Radiology Technologist (RT),Certified Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)(ARRT), Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred Certifications/Licensures: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) GENERAL SKILLS: Organizational Skills Communication Skills Interpersonal Skills Customer Relations Analytical Grammar / Spelling Read / Comprehend Written Instructions Follow Verbal Instructions Basic Computer Skills General Clerical Skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Have good - manual dexterity PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Walking - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Sitting - Frequently within shift (34-66%) Bending/Stooping - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Twist at waist - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Pushing/Pulling - Occasionally within shift (1-33%)

Requirements

Requires a Vocational Technical Degree in Radiology Technology and certifications including RT, ARRT (MR), and BLS. Preferred experience includes 1-2 years in MRI and CPR certification.
