About the role

The therapist provides group, individual, and family therapy to help patients overcome psychological, emotional, and substance abuse issues. They are responsible for performing psychosocial assessments, formulating treatment plans, and managing crisis situations.

Responsibilities

  • Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center is a 182-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
  • FLBHC features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.
  • On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center.

  • The IOP/PHP Therapist will demonstrate the ability to perform group, individual and family therapy.
  • They will also perform psychosocial assessment and formulate treatment plans based on individuals needs.
  • The therapist will be able to recognize crisis situations and provide interventions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers, administrators, physicians, and allied staff is a must.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.
  • LMHC or LCSW in Florida required.
  • One (1) year of experience working in a Behavioral Health Center or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or children.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling and possess a valid LMHC or LCSW license in Florida. At least one year of experience in a behavioral health center or psychiatric counseling setting is required.
