We’re currently seeking a dedicated Lactation Consultant to join our Obstetrics Department at our Ontario location.
Responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating lactation plans for the breastfeeding mother, as well as breast pumping plans. Is fully collaborative with the patient, patient’s family, significant others and members of the health care team. Demonstrates specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding/chest-feeding and human lactation. Acts as an integral member of the healthcare team and performs the Lactation Consultant functions within the scope of practice.
IBCLC Certification by International Board of Lactation Consultants Examiners (IBLCE) or appropriate candidate willing to obtain IBCLC Certification within one year of hire, required for the employee who oversee lactation services in the OB Department.
CLC for those that work at the direction of the IBCLC.
Experience with inpatient lactation programs.
BLS Certification or obtained within thirty (30) days of hire.
