Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical nursing care to adolescent inpatients with behavioral health needs, following physician orders and individualized treatment plans.
• Perform routine assessments, monitor vital signs, mental status, safety, and responsiveness; administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention as part of the care team; document events and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, therapists, social workers) to support treatment goals and communicate with families as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record; ensure safety, privacy, and quality of care in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Requirements

• Active Ohio RN license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Preferred: One year of behavioral health experience; de-escalation training (Welle or CPI) is a plus
• Ability to work the listed 12-hour day shift in an inpatient behavioral health setting, with every other weekend and holiday required
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to engage adolescents and collaborate with families and care teams
