Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Physical Therapist: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical conditions, functional limitations, and mobility. Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment and patient goals. Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries. Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, patients, and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge recommendations. Educate patients and their families on the therapeutic process, home exercise programs, and injury prevention. Provide support and encouragement to patients to enhance their motivation and compliance with therapy. Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and discharge planning to coordinate patient care. Adhere to regulatory and facility policies, including documentation standards, safety protocols, and infection control procedures. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining high standards of patient care. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications of the Physical Therapist: Graduate of a physical therapy curriculum accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) or the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy (CAPT). Hold a valid State Physical Therapy License.
