About the role

Provide overnight supervision and direct care for women and children in a residential substance abuse treatment facility. Perform case management duties, including developing supportive relationships, advocating for clients, and implementing service plans.

Summary description of work

This case manager will serve as a direct care staff/case manager in a residential substance abuse treatment facility that serves women and their children.

This position provides supervision and support to residents as a part of the 24-hour direct care staff, as well as case management services for assigned families.

This is a fully awake overnight role.

The case manager will be part of the team that provides education and support programming for women, their children and family members.

We value lived experience and recognize that recovery can take many forms.

We ask that applicants who identify as being in recovery have a minimum of two (2) years of sustained/continuous recovery to support well-being and effectiveness in this role.

Compensation

  • between $19.74 and $23.54 per hour (wage is determined by total years of relevant experience)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology or a related field required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology or a related field preferred
  • One to two years’ experience in human services field preferred
  • Alcohol/drug abuse experience preferred but not required
  • Valid driver’s license/ acceptable driving record
  • Applicants who identify as being in recovery have a minimum of two (2) years of sustained/continuous recovery to support well-being and effectiveness in this role
  • Certified med-aide preferred but not required.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities
  • *Provides supervision and support for program participants as a part of residential program staffing for 24 hours per day, 7 day per week schedule.
  • *Assists staff in implementing case management activities and goals with and for Women and Children Center (WCC) clients.
  • *Develops supportive relationships with clients.
  • Advocates for clients in the community.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Maintains required records and statistical information.
  • Displays a courteous and caring attitude at all times to the clientele, volunteers, and visitors of the Agency.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with program area staff, volunteers, and other Agency staff.
  • *Is dependable and punctual regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Abides by all specific program and Agency procedures, policies, and requirements.
  • *Participates in interdisciplinary family/case staffing to obtain information, provide information, and assist with service planning as needed.
  • *Assist in completing intake information with incoming clients.
  • *Completes inventory of medications and monitors medication administration of clients.
  • *Documents client activity, progress and needs per established record keeping procedures.
  • *Participates in interdisciplinary family/case staffing to obtain information, provide information, and assist with service planning.
  • *Provide culturally and ethnically appropriate family services and intervention strategies.
  • *Utilize a collaborative teaching approach.
  • *Use interventions with clients that are evidence based.
  • *Use effective strategies for engaging, defusing, and de-escalating clients through collaborative problem-solving techniques.
  • *Provide a range of concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the family’s values, learning styles, lifestyle, circumstances, and culture.
  • *Implements case management plans and provide support services for program participants under the direction of Lead Case Manager and Program Coordinator.
  • *Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of facility including monitoring residents’ activities.
  • *Confidence in addressing client non-compliance is necessary to create a safe and secure environment for other residents.

Requirements

Requires an Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field, with a Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license and, for those in recovery, have at least two years of sustained recovery.
