About the role

The CMA assists with the medical needs of clients under the direction of nursing staff and coordinates healthcare in accordance with state and federal regulations. Key duties include managing medication inventory, maintaining medical logs, and updating client charts.

Position Summary

All Together Recovery LLC (ATR)/Heal Together Counseling Center (HTCC), provides multiple levels of ASAM SUD/BHSO care, including recovery housing, education, job training, employment, and other recovery related extensions to the family in for-profit and non-profit environments. ATR is not a medical but recognizes that individuals participating in our programs who are recovering from addiction will also have physical health needs. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting with the medical needs of clients served while under the direction of the APRN and/or RN on staff. The CMA is also responsible for assisting with coordination of healthcare for persons served in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations as well as nursing standards of care. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRMENTS: Must have a valid Kentucky driver’s license. Participate in all necessary staff meetings. Be proficient in all ATR rules, policies, and procedures. Model servant leadership. Operate with integrity in all circumstances. Communicate effectively and be responsive to verbal and written correspondences. Check in medications (inventory) from pharmacy delivery. Facilitating medication self- administration. Review client request and refer appropriately. Assist with weekly nursing updates under the supervision of the RN. Maintain various medical logs. Schedule and confirm clients’ external appointments. Submit lab orders and review client drug screens. Maintain and update client charts in hard copy electronic form. Upload paper records into the medical chart appropriately. Clean and prepare examination/medication rooms as needed. Answer phone calls, directing appropriately and notating messages. Process appropriately requested medical records. Will provide mandatory on call coverage as needed by ATR

Background/Education

Graduate of medical assistant program. Must possess current valid and unrestricted certificate. Prefer medical SUD background. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of a medical assistant program with a current, valid, and unrestricted certificate. A valid Kentucky driver's license is required, and experience in substance use disorder (SUD) backgrounds is preferred.
