About the role

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for preparing, administering, and measuring radioactive isotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic studies. They must ensure image quality and safety while collaborating with physicians to determine patient protocols.

Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus 1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, Indiana 47905 The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for the execution of Nuclear Medicine procedures. This position prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. This position prepares stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculates doses to be administered by a nuclear medicine technologist under the direction of an authorized user as well as executes blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies following standard laboratory techniques. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and demonstrates initiative and ingenuity regarding the administration of radiopharmaceuticals to render optimum images.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE (Ask Talent Acquisition Advisor if eligible for Sign-on Bonus) Monday - Friday 7a-3:30p Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms. Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure. Complete all exams, procedures, therapies in nuclear medicine; obtain the most optimal images and evaluate, process and submit for physician interpretation according to policy and protocol. Confirm patient identify and obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results. Perform venous punctures, utilize universal precautions while administering radiopharmaceuticals. Practice established safety guidelines and utilize ALARA radiation reduction tools and techniques.

Qualifications

Required Associate's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association NM license - State Licensing Board Nuclear Medicine Technician Certification Board (NMTCB) - The Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT-N) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) TRAVEL IS REQUIRED: Up to 20% EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER It is the policy of Franciscan Alliance to provide equal employment to its employees and qualified applicants for employment as otherwise required by an applicable local, state or Federal law. Requirements
