The Sonographer performs high-quality ultrasound and biopsy procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. They are responsible for accurate imaging, thorough documentation, and maintaining professional conduct with patients and colleagues.

Overview As a Sonographer, your skill, compassion, and professionalism help create a reassuring experience for patients during ultrasound and biopsy procedures.

You play an important role in helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their care journey.

Using your expertise and sound clinical judgment, you will determine appropriate imaging techniques and contribute to high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

Imaging: Provides quality images with accuracy and efficiency, using optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.

Documentation

Gathers complete documentation of all pertinent information to provide accurate and timely service to customers.

Patient

Care &

Safety: Provides for personal and patient care and safety using professional judgment in accordance with written standards so there is no injury to self or others.

Professional

Behavior: Practices professional communications, appearance, conduct, punctuality, attendance, and attitude that lead to physician, patient and co-worker respect and confidence.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of accredited (by AMA or ARDMS) school of ultrasound or equivalent experience is required Licensure Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen and OB/GYN (ARDMS AB OB) required. The Sonographer may start with either AB or OB certification, and has one year to obtain the other. If proof of registration is not received within one year of assuming the Sonographer job, the position will be vacated by the incumbent. Current state license in Sonography is required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon. ARDMS Breast certification preferred. BLS/CPR Certification: American Heart Association, Health Care provider level BLS and AED Certification required. Pay Range USD $48.69 - USD $69.65 /Hr. Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound school and hold ARDMS certifications in Abdomen and OB/GYN, as well as a current Oregon state license. BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association is also required.
