Mater Hospital Springfield has an exciting opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) in full-time or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE), permanent positions, commencing September 2026.

What you’ll be doing
As a valued member of our PACU team, you will deliver safe, patient-centred care while supporting positive clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience. You will:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthesia following a variety of surgical procedures.
Perform ongoing patient assessment, monitoring and timely clinical intervention throughout the recovery phase.
Collaborate with anaesthetists, surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe and effective patient care.
Advocate for patients and provide compassionate care that supports their physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to evidence-based practice, infection prevention and quality standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education and professional development opportunities.
Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment that promotes excellence in perioperative care.
About you
You are an experienced PACU nurse who thrives in a fast-paced perioperative environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding patient care. You will bring:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated recent experience working within a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) is essential.
Experience caring for obstetric and/or paediatric patients is highly desirable.
Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognise and respond to deteriorating patients.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to patient care.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining a high standard of professional practice.
