About the role

The MRI Technologist provides high-quality diagnostic imaging services and ensures patient safety throughout the scanning process. Responsibilities include maintaining clinical competency in MRI procedures, documenting patient history, and collaborating with radiologists.

Description

  • As an MRI Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services using magnetic resonance imaging equipment. You’ll work closely with radiologists and healthcare teams to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and compassionate care throughout the scanning process. *
  • This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of up to $20,000 with a 2-year commitment **

Responsibilities

Maintain clinical competency in all MRI procedures and equipment operation. Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for all exams. Review patient history and physician orders to apply appropriate imaging protocols, including contrast preparation and administration. Accurately document patient history and exam details in the electronic medical record. Present relevant clinical information to the radiologist prior to the start of each exam. Ensure accurate coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and PACS systems, and enter all related charges. Adhere to and promote MR safety standards within the department. Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients and coworkers, demonstrating respect and empathy. Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure efficient patient care. Clearly explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation.

Shifts

This position will work rotating days and shifts: 6:30am-2:30pm, 7am-3pm, 9am-5pm, 1pm-9pm. You may need to provide on-call coverage. May be subject to work other shifts/days based on hospital needs.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology, or completion of an accredited CNMT, ARMRIT or ARDMS program.

ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT within 6 months of hire date.

MR registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained.

CNMT, ARDMS and ARMRIT graduates must obtain MR registry within 12 months of hire date.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: ARRT Certificate OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT) OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Requirements
