Skills & Qualifications Essential
Secondary School Graduation Diploma Ability to operate housekeeping equipment and a general knowledge and understanding of workplace safety. Good verbal and written communication skills, strong time management skills and the ability to work both in a team and independently. An understanding of the Residents’ Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards as set out by the Ministry of Long Term Care.
Experience working in housekeeping for a long-term care facility, nursing home or hospital.
The incumbent must be able to perform all the necessary physical tasks associated with the position including lifting approximately 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, and moving heavy materials, equipment and boxes.
Current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check by the first day of employment. Current (obtained within the past six (6) months) two-step tuberculosis test or Quanti-FERON-TB Gold plus test by the first day of employment.
