About the role

The Intake Specialist coordinates care for behavioral health clients by managing intake processes and facilitating communication between providers and families. They ensure all required treatment paperwork and informed consents are accurately completed and maintained.

Position Summary

The Intake Specialist is responsible for providing direct support and coordination of care for clients receiving behavioral health services during the start of services and thereafter. This role involves assisting with intake, facilitating communication between providers, clients, and family members, to ensure that all required paperwork is obtained and kept up to date. The Intake Specialist works closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance client experience and promote positive outcomes in a compassionate, empathetic, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all necessary forms and paperwork related to treatment are completed and adhere to agency standards and regulations. Assist in scheduling Diagnostic Assessments at the start of services. Assist in discharging clients who have met their service goals. Assist clients and family members with the completion of necessary forms and documentation required for care and insurance. Ensure that informed consent for treatment, including therapy and medication, is obtained and properly documented.

Education

HS Diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to maintain a non-judgmental, empathetic, and supportive demeanor in a variety of challenging situations. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and care coordination. Knowledge of behavioral health conditions, treatment options, and community resources. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in an office or clinical setting with clients who may be in crisis or emotional distress.

Additional Information

Work Schedule: May require flexibility for evening or weekend shifts depending on client needs.

Travel

Occasional travel for off-site meetings, client visits, or community outreach may be required.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of behavioral health conditions and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment are required.
