About the role

Perform a variety of technical diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce quality images for pathology detection. Conduct exams across multiple areas including abdomen, obstetrics, breast, gynecology, vascular, and axilla.

Highlights: Summary: The Ultrasonographer, Outpatient shall perform duties involved with a variety of technical procedures utilizing high frequency sound waves to produce quality images for the detection of pathology. This individual shall perform all diagnostic ultrasound exams including but not limited to: abdomen, obstetrical, breast, gynecological, vascular, and axilla. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed. Education / Experience:Graduate of a School of Diagnostic Ultrasound required. License / Certification: Active ARMDS or ARRT in Sonography required , BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Requires manual dexterity.

Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.

Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.

Must remain aware of patient condition at all times.

Must possess effective communication skills.

Must be able to assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person. Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range. Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Much exposure to computer work. Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock. Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation. Requirements

Must be a graduate of a School of Diagnostic Ultrasound with an active ARDMS or ARRT certification in Sonography and BLS certification. Requires the ability to maneuver patients and work within rigid time constraints.
