Chisholm Ridge Pet Hospital is seeking an Experienced or Licensed Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our talented four-doctor team. Why Our Veterinary Technicians Love It Here Join an established four-doctor hospital committed to high-quality medicine Work alongside experienced veterinarians and compassionate teammates Focus on surgical patient care while practicing advanced veterinary medicine Enjoy a consistent four-day work week that supports work-life balance Participate in rotating Saturday shifts for predictable scheduling Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques whenever possible Receive mentorship and ongoing support from an experienced team Continue expanding your technical skills through continuing education and professional development Become part of Vetcor's nationwide TechLife community of veterinary technicians Work in a positive culture where teamwork, learning, and encouragement are everyday priorities Build meaningful relationships with clients while improving the lives of pets Enjoy a workplace that values both professional excellence and having fun together What Our Veterinary Technicians Do Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures from preparation through recovery Prepare surgical suites, instruments, and equipment Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia while closely observing patient vital signs Perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and sample collection Administer medications, treatments, and fluid therapy as directed Prepare patients for surgery, including surgical site preparation Monitor hospitalized and surgical patients throughout their stay Perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging as needed Maintain sterile technique and proper instrument care Accurately document treatments, anesthesia records, and medical notes Educate clients regarding surgical procedures, medications, discharge instructions, and postoperative care Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to promote positive patient experiences Collaborate closely with veterinarians and fellow team members to provide outstanding patient care Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgical areas Support daily hospital operations while promoting a positive team environment What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring Veterinary Technician license or substantial surgical veterinary technician experience Previous experience assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing Confidence monitoring anesthesia and recognizing changes in patient condition A commitment to practicing Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques Excellent communication and client education skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital A positive attitude and collaborative approach to teamwork Confidence taking ownership of responsibilities and following cases through to completion A desire to continue learning and growing professionally A willingness to mentor and encourage fellow team members Compassion for patients, clients, and coworkers Dependability, flexibility, and excellent time-management skills Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the hospital for extended periods Ability to safely lift and restrain patients of varying sizes with assistance when appropriate Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical and surgical environment Manual dexterity sufficient to perform technical nursing and surgical duties Exposure to animals, cleaning agents, anesthetic gases, and other veterinary hospital conditions while following established safety protocols The Extras You'll Actually Feel At Chisholm Ridge Pet Hospital, you'll join a team that believes exceptional patient care starts with exceptional teamwork.
