The Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center at Cedars-Sinai is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the laboratory of Dr. C. Noel Bairey Merz.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both women and men every year. Yet, until recently, women's heart disease treatment has been based on medical research performed on men. The Bairey Merz Lab at the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center is working to correct this gender inequality in research, as well as to educate women on how to recognize female-pattern heart disease symptoms.
What will you be doing in this role?
Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, the Postdoctoral Scientist will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period.
May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
Analyzes and interprets data.
May assist in preparation of grant proposals.
Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
Not responsible for generating grant funds.
A Doctorate degree in a field directly related to the research specialization is required. No prior professional experience is required, as technical knowledge is acquired during the post-doctoral appointment.
