Perform general housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain clean and organized resident apartments. Coordinate cleaning activities around resident needs while ensuring high levels of satisfaction and privacy.
Ability to perform housekeeping and laundry procedures which includes in part the following items: Ability to lift a mop bucket full of water into and out of the mop cleaning hopper. Ability to lift, bend, stretch, squat, stand and other movements to perform general housekeeping functions. Ability to mop with a heavy industrial size mop. Ability to perform tasks which require fine muscle movement of the hands. Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time. Desire and physical ability to work with seniors and disabled. Ability to read and write English to a level adequate to utilize housekeeping ADL sheets. Ability to verbally communicate with the residents in an understandable manner. Expectations To present oneself in an orderly manner. A willingness to adapt to the changing demands of this position. Be helpful and polite to residents, to be understanding of their needs and respect their privacy and personal property. Confidentiality. Keep your areas of responsibility clean, neat and organized. Cooperate with and be polite to all staff members. Be dependable and punctual. A working knowledge of Residential Care philosophy. A working knowledge of Resident's Rights and Responsibilities. To conduct yourself in a professional manner when on duty and/or representing the facility and its residents. To perform other related duties as requested and assigned by management. Requires a high school diploma or GED and the physical ability to perform strenuous cleaning tasks such as lifting and mopping. Must pass background investigations and possess the ability to communicate effectively in English.
