About the role

Provide direct patient care to a mixed Med/Surg population on a 30-bed unit, including monitoring status and administering medications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute care plans and perform routine clinical procedures.

Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg travel assignment in Atlanta, GA.

Start date August 17, 2026; duration 13 weeks; guaranteed hours 36 per week; shift 2x3 Days.

This assignment supports a 30-bed Med/Surg unit on a dedicated education-focused pathway where travel nurses care for Med/Surg patients rather than provide education.

BLS is required; ACLS is preferred.

A minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or equivalent acute care experience is expected, with experience in level 1 trauma or a mid-large hospital preferred.

No planned time off (NO RTO) during the assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to a mixed Med/Surg patient population on a 30-bed unit
  • Monitor patient status, perform frequent assessments, administer medications, and document care per unit protocol
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
  • Perform routine procedures (IV therapy, wound care, basic life support) and ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Maintain accurate records, communicate changes in patient condition to the care team, and respond to clinical changes promptly

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or equivalent acute care experience (preferably in a Level 1 trauma or mid-large hospital)
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Ability to work on a 30-bed Med/Surg unit with a 5–6:1 patient ratio
  • Start date of August 17, 2026 and willingness to commit to a 13-week contract
  • Atlanta, GA area placement for travel assignment
