In this role, you will work closely with our cardiothoracic surgery team, supporting surgeons and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and managing patients pre- and post-surgery, contributing significantly to our mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
Provide comprehensive care to cardiothoracic surgery patients Assist in surgical procedures and pre-operative assessments Conduct thorough patient evaluations and documentation Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals Monitor post-operative recovery and manage complications Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and care plans Ensure compliance with medical protocols and standards Participate in patient rounds and clinical meetings
Valid NP or PA license in the state of South Carolina Associate degree in nursing or a related field Previous experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related area preferred Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to patient-centered care Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Schedule: 12 to 24-hour in-house shifts
After-hours call required
24-hour weekend call shifts
Patient Volume: 20 per shift
Duties: Consults and first-assist for OR cases
Strong clinical support staff
EMR: eClinicalWorks
Must be board-certified
