Mater Hospital Springfield has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Outpatients Department. We are recruiting to both a permanent part-time position and a temporary full-time/part-time parental leave to support the ongoing needs and growth of the department.

Working closely with the Clinical Nurses and Nurse Unit Manager, the successful applicant will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Outpatients Department. In addition to providing exceptional clinical care, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support departmental portfolios, participate in service development activities, and help drive excellence in patient care delivery.

What you’ll be doing
As a valued member of our Outpatients team, you will provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care while contributing to positive patient outcomes and supporting the ongoing success of the department.
Deliver high-quality nursing care that meets the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care.
Support the Clinical Nurses in coordinating and delivering efficient outpatient services.
Assist in the day-to-day operations and patient flow activities within the Outpatients Department.
Collaborate effectively with medical officers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
Support quality improvement, accreditation, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives.
Actively contribute to service development and innovation opportunities within the department.
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and evidence-based practice.
Advocate for patients and support them in making informed healthcare decisions.
Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and multidisciplinary teams.
Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, quality improvement and infection prevention.
Participate in quality initiatives to continuously improve patient care and service delivery.
Support and mentor students and less experienced staff members.
Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and evidence-based practice.
About you
You are a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated ability to provide safe, patient-centred nursing care.
Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in an outpatient, ambulatory care, procedural, medical, surgical, or acute care setting will be highly regarded.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
