About the role

Perform independent diagnostic sonographic assessments for routine and high-risk obstetrical cases. Collaborate with physicians and technical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Obstetrics and Gynecology of Indiana a division of Axia Women's Health is part of the largest Women's Health Care Group in the United States, comprised of over 300 providers, 100 patient care centers, 4 breast health centers, 2 perinatal testing centers, and 2 central laboratories offering a full spectrum of exceptional care in Obstetrics, Gynecology, Fertility, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Laboratory Services.

We are recruiting for a Ultrasound Tech position at our North Indiana Care Center Indianapolis and Zionsville, IN.

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30-5:00 varying schedule; Hours 30-36 per week

A Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) Sonographer is a diagnostic ultrasound professional who is qualified to perform independent sonographic assessments of maternal-fetal conditions.

A person in this role must be qualified by academic and clinical experience, along with professional credentialing which should include OB/GYN registry, as well as the nuchal translucency/nasal bone certification.

Their responsibility is to provide diagnostic patient care services for routine and high-risk obstetrical cases using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.

A MFM sonographer must have advanced knowledge in various fetal conditions and anomalies as well as knowledge of contributing high-risk maternal factors.

In addition, the scope of practice of the diagnostic MFM sonographer includes those procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience.

This person must demonstrate competency and must hold the appropriate ARDMS certification(s), which is the standard of practice in ultrasound.

Job Description

Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

Performs routine and diagnostic ultrasound images.

Interacts with physicians and other technical staff to provide quality, safe and efficient care for the patient.

Follows guidelines for probe handling and infection control.

Follows examination protocols under the guidance of the physicians on duty.

Education and Experience

Required

  • Graduate of an educational program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • At least two (2) years previous of verifiable experience as an MFM Sonographer. Licenses and Certificates:

  • Credentials with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Current certification with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registered in OB.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with at least two years of MFM sonographer experience. Requires active ARDMS certification, specifically in OB, along with nuchal translucency and nasal bone certifications.
