About the role

The procedural attendant provides patient-centered care and manages inventory duties such as stocking supplies and labeling equipment. They also facilitate patient preparation for procedures and manage the sterile processing department (SPD) workflow.

  • Summary: Provides patient centered care across the procedural areas.
  • Inventory duties may include but are not limited to: labeling equipment for outdates, pulling expired product, scanning products into inventory system, inventory counts, stocking supplies as needed for procedure rooms or PAR, utilization of proper phone etiquette.
  • Patient care duties include but are not limited to: detailed/clear communication by phone and in person to prepare patients for procedures, transporting patients or supplies as needed for procedures, manages the SPD process for the procedural area. Other duties as assigned.
  • Experience
  • DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year experience in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Education
  • DESCRIPTION: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • SKILLS
  • DESCRIPTION: Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when performing care, resolving patient care problems and dealing with patients and families. Ability to use general medical support equipment, including patient lifting devices; understand and follow instructions, as well as give clear directions to patients and others in need of assistance and guidance; good listening skills. Ability to use standard office equipment including computers, fax, copy, document scanners, and tube stations. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy.

  • DESCRIPTION: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire. Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Candidates must obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
