Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Program
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to individuals experiencing behavioral health and/or substance use crises within a DBHDS-licensed 23-Hour Crisis Stabilization Program. The RN conducts nursing assessments, administers medications, monitors physical and psychiatric conditions, coordinates interdisciplinary care, responds to emergencies, and promotes a safe therapeutic environment. Clinical Assessment Perform comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission. Complete physical health screenings and reassessments. Assess suicide risk, withdrawal symptoms, and psychiatric status. Communicate significant findings to the provider. Medication Management Administer medications as ordered. Complete medication reconciliation. Monitor medication effectiveness and adverse reactions. Maintain accurate MAR documentation. Crisis Intervention Respond to psychiatric and medical emergencies. Utilize trauma-informed verbal de-escalation. Participate in emergency response procedures. Medical Monitoring Monitor vital signs and medical stability. Collect specimens and review laboratory results. Coordinate transfers when medically indicated.
