About the Position

Our Nurses are valued members of our team who serve a vital role in providing skilled nursing care for long-term residents who become like family. This compassionate and fulfilling work makes a true difference in the lives of the resident, their family, and the entire community.

More specifically, some of your daily responsibilities would include

Providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing plans based on the individual needs of the patient Accurately reporting and documenting patient conditions, including signs and symptoms indicative of change, using a computerized charting system Implementing standard nursing procedures as ordered by a physician Administering medications, including narcotics and controlled substances, as ordered by a physician Delegating certain aspects of patient care to other healthcare team members, including CNAs Assisting in the betterment of Franklin County Medical Center by conducting current nursing research, offering helpful feedback to CNAs, and being an example of FCMC’s standards

Requirements

Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Idaho Hold a current BLS certification; ACLS optional Have a working knowledge of nursing, healthcare safety, state and federal regulations, and regulatory processes Have good communication skills both written and oral in the English language Be able to manage, support, and work cooperatively with individuals and committees Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Be able to interpret a variety of technical instructions that deal with abstract and concrete variables Have or be able to learn computer skills required in the documentation of resident care 1-2 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred

Essential Job Functions

Regular and predictable attendance required Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms Continuously performs difficult manipulative skills Frequently performs tasks which require moderate to complex manipulation. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance Frequently repositions patients, transfers patients, pushes/pulls patients, and pushes/pulls patients in a wheelchair Occasionally required to operate foot controls Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Must comply with HIPAA to protect information that is sensitive, proprietary, or confidential Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as situations require to maintain infection control standards set by the facility

Work

Environment: FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year; operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients Potential exposure to blood, body tissue and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud/unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, emotional or physical stress
