About the role

The Medical Assistant will assist with patient check-in, exams, and documentation while ensuring exam rooms are prepared and medical supplies are maintained. They are also responsible for patient education, specimen collection, and scheduling diagnostic tests and procedures.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities Assist with patient check-in, exams, and documentation in electronic medical record May participate in specimen collection Interview patients, measure vital signs, and review medications list Document care provided per established guidelines Provide patient education resources as instructed Prepare and disinfect exam room for each patient’s visit Ensure adequate supplies and appropriate instruments are available Inventory and order medical supplies Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained per department protocol Schedule tests and procedures (including radiology) utilizing the hospital and clinic computer systems; review results Required Skills/Abilities High school diploma or equivalent required Medical Assistant certification required BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required

Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Medical Assistant certification. Additionally, a BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
