About the role

This position provides advanced nursing care to patients with cardiovascular disease by developing treatment plans and managing patient care in collaboration with physicians. Responsibilities include ordering diagnostic tests, conducting physical assessments, and educating patients on heart conditions and lifestyle modifications.

Description This position provides advanced nursing care to patients with cardiovascular disease: developing treatment plans, educating patients on heart conditions and lifestyle modifications, and managing their care in collaboration with our team of cardiovascular physicians. There are also opportunities to pursue interests in sub-specialization areas such as structural heart, vascular disease, and electrophysiology. The position is clinic-based.

Duties & Responsibilities

Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. Conducting physical examinations and assessments, including history and examination, in the field or in clinic. Creating treatment plans for patients. Developing and implementing programs to prevent disease and educate patients. Coordinating and managing patient care with other medical staff on site as well as referring physicians. Consulting with physicians or specialists when indicated.

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS · Professional certification as Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia. · Current Nurse Practitioner certification with ANCC or AANP. · Minimum of two years Cardiovascular experience. · Ability to make independent decisions. · Present a professional appearance and attitude with patients and staff. · Complete annual education requirements appropriate to credentials. · Maintain appropriate licensure / credentials in good standing. · Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
