The Direct Support Professional provides compassionate, individualized care to adults in residential crisis programs, including managing crisis behaviors and supporting daily living activities. They are responsible for coordinating appointments, meals, and medications while maintaining a safe and enriching home environment.
As a Direct Service Professional (DSP), you’ll be an active part of our residential crisis programs supporting adults. Your responsibilities include: Responding safely and effectively to crisis behaviors Supporting daily living skills and independence Coordinating outings, appointments, medications, and meals Maintaining the home environment and assisting with household upkeep Engaging clients in enriching activities Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team Qualifications Required Minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and displaying severe verbal and physical behaviors Availability to work every weekend Ability to work in one of the following locations in California: Shingle Springs, Orangevale, Rio Linda, & Elverta Availability to work one of the following shifts each week: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm (AM), 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm (PM), 10:00 pm - 6:00 am (NOC) Willingness to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 90-days of hire Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed Ability to perform physical aspects of residential care and crisis response Pre-Employment Requirements Valid and current auto insurance CA Driver's License High School Diploma Successful criminal background check Reference verification Education verification Immunization records Negative TB test Compensation: $23 - $26/hour Incentive pay factored into hourly rate for premium shifts on schedule Quarterly bonus for overtime shifts Paid training (RBT, DSP I/II, CPI, Ukeru) RBT Test Reimbursement Employer-subsidized medical, dental & vision coverage 401(k) with employer contribution PTO accrual Separate paid sick time Paid holidays Annual performance-based compensation growth potential Loyalty bonus every 5 years Life & AD&D coverage at no cost to you Comprehensive EAP—100% employer-funded Tax-advantaged healthcare & dependent care FSAs Ongoing professional development (CEUs) Why Advance Kids?
