Arizona Rehab Campus - Tucson - Tucson, AZ 85715The Behavioral Health Nurse Provider is responsible for delivering high-quality medical care to individuals receiving behavioral health and substance use disorder services. This role focuses on medical assessments, medication management, coordination of care, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient safety, stabilization, and recovery. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, histories, and physical exams upon admission and as clinically indicated Evaluate and manage acute and chronic medical conditions commonly associated with behavioral health and substance use populations Prescribe, manage, and monitor non-psychiatric medications within scope of practice and in compliance with state and federal regulations Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and screenings Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and case managers to support integrated care planning Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning Monitor for and respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition Ensure compliance with AHCCCS, Joint Commission, ADHS, and organizational policies Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Educate patients on medical conditions, medications, and wellness strategies Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits as needed Qualifications Active and unrestricted Arizona RN and NP License National NP certification (FNP, AGNP, or equivalent) Eligible for and able to maintain credentialing and enrollment with AHCCCS and all contracted payers, as applicable to the role (preferred) DEA registration (or ability to obtain) Experience in detox, residential, or inpatient behavioral health preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent required Minimum two (2) years of experience in related field preferred CPR/FA Certification – to be obtained within first 30 days Fingerprint Clearance Card – have current card or show proof of applying within 7 days from hire date Handle with Care – to be obtained within first 30 days Successful clearance of pre-employment criminal/county/state background check Successful clearance of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing Successful clearance of TB PPD testing upon hire and annual screening of TB symptoms Attending clinical oversight with BHP once every 2 weeks worked for a minimum of 2 sessions per month.
