Responsibilities

Performs activities of daily living and personal care needs under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurse. Performs technical skills/procedures relating to physical, mental health and social needs of patients under the guidance and supervision of the RN. Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient’s physical, social and mental status and basic patient data collected. Demonstrates adherence to safe patient handling policy. Demonstrates time management skills. Maintains the patient care areas to ensure cleanliness, safety and supplies of material and equipment. Receives delegated work adhering to the five rights of delegation. Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned. Serves as a preceptor for new employees. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
