The LVN provides acute nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse while ensuring accurate documentation and implementation of medical orders. They are responsible for maintaining patient safety, infection control standards, and providing education to patients and their families.
Overview This position is responsible for providing acute nursing patient care in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in compliance with the LVN Practice Act.
Additional responsibilities include collecting patient information, timely and complete documentation of patient care and implementation of assigned tasks, medical orders and plan of care.
Integrates patient care standards into all patient care activities.

Education/Training/Experience Graduate of an LVN School of Nursing. One year acute care experience as an LVN in Medical Surgical Services required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background and/or work history. Candidates must be graduates of an LVN School of Nursing and possess at least one year of acute care experience in Medical Surgical Services. Required certifications include a current CA LVN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, IV certification, Phlebotomy certification, and EKG certification.
