The Women's Health Provider delivers comprehensive, evidence-based reproductive, gynecologic, prenatal, postpartum, and preventive healthcare services to adolescent and adult patients. The provider manages routine and complex women's health conditions, provides prenatal and postpartum care within the provider's scope of practice, performs office-based procedures consistent with credentialing, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Women's Health Provider collaborates closely with physicians, nursing staff, behavioral health, care management, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that supports Kinston Health's mission of improving the health of our communities through accessible, high-quality healthcare.
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program; OR
Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program with documented women's health/OB-GYN experience; OR
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with women's health or OB-GYN experience.
Current unrestricted North Carolina APRN or PA license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
National certification as one of the following preferred:
Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP-BC)
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC or FNP-C)
Physician Assistant (PA-C)
Current DEA registration or ability to obtain.
Current North Carolina Controlled Substance Registration (if applicable).
Current BLS certification.
Maintain credentialing, privileging, and continuing education requirements.

Physical Demands
Frequently stands, walks, bends, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, twists, and changes positions while examining, treating, and assisting patients.
Frequently uses hands and fingers requiring fine motor dexterity to perform pelvic examinations, office-based gynecologic procedures, specimen collection, suturing, contraceptive device insertion and removal, injections, and operation of medical equipment.
Requires close visual acuity to assess patients, identify subtle physical findings, interpret laboratory and diagnostic results, review medical records, and utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Requires adequate hearing and verbal communication to effectively assess patients, provide education, collaborate with healthcare team members, and respond to clinical situations.
Frequently sits for extended periods while documenting patient encounters, reviewing diagnostic studies, conducting telehealth visits, and completing administrative responsibilities.
Frequently moves throughout the clinic, exam rooms, procedure rooms, laboratory areas, and other patient care environments.
Regularly positions and assists patients for pelvic examinations, procedures, and treatments while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
Occasionally assists patients with transfers, positioning, mobility, or emergency interventions and may lift, carry, push, or pull equipment, medical supplies, or patient-related items weighing up to 30 pounds independently and heavier weights with assistance or appropriate lifting devices.
Must be able to perform Basic Life Support (BLS) and respond appropriately during medical emergencies, including prolonged standing, kneeling, bending, and performing repetitive upper-body movements during resuscitation efforts.
Must be able to wear and tolerate required personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, gowns, eye protection, and respirators, for extended periods as clinical situations require.
Regularly works in environments with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, sharps, hazardous medications, cleaning agents, and other occupational hazards while adhering to infection prevention and safety standards.
Must be able to maintain concentration, sound clinical judgment, and attention to detail while managing frequent interruptions, multiple competing priorities, emotionally stressful situations, and high patient volumes.
Must be able to travel between clinic locations and community outreach sites as organizational needs require.

Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities
May serve as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff.
