Practice for this role

About the role

Conduct comprehensive medical exams, diagnose conditions, and perform various veterinary procedures including diagnostics and dentistry. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrative treatment plans and compassionate client education.

The Role

Associate Veterinarian This is more than just an associate veterinarian position — it's an invitation to grow into an integrative practitioner alongside a nationally recognized leader in the field, with access to therapies and mentorship you won't find anywhere else in the Bay Area.

You Will

Conduct comprehensive medical exams, diagnose and manage a wide range of conditions, and build individualized treatment plans Perform wellness visits, diagnostics, bloodwork, digital radiography, dentistry, and sedated procedures — keeping your general practice skills sharp and broad Work alongside Dr. Gary Richter and a multidisciplinary team to explore integrative approaches — acupuncture, herbal therapy, physical rehabilitation, or another modality that speaks to your interests Provide clients with treatment options and outcomes that go beyond what conventional Western care alone can offer Deliver clear, compassionate client communication and education Grow your skill set over time with direct mentorship — no certification required on day one, just genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn

About Our Hospital Modalities & Services Available On-Site

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy and ozone therapy Stem cell therapy, joint injections (PRP and osteocushion products) Underwater treadmill therapy Shockwave and cold laser therapy Acupuncture and chiropractic care Physical rehabilitation programs Digital radiography and full in-house diagnostics

Our Team

  • You'll work alongside Dr. Gary Richter, a rehab-focused veterinarian, a part-time human physical therapist certified in veterinary rehabilitation, a part-time acupuncturist, and a part-time chiropractor — several with backgrounds in human healthcare and specialized veterinary training.
  • Hiring here is shaped as much by cultural fit as clinical skill: we're a collaborative, low-drama, patient-first group, and that matters.

What You Bring

  • A solid foundation as a general practitioner (roughly 1+ year internship, or ~2 years post-graduate experience preferred) Genuine interest in integrative and holistic medicine — you don't need existing certification or experience, just curiosity and openness to learning Strong client communication skills and a high-touch, education-forward approach to care Confidence in your clinical decision-making, with a collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Bonus if you have: acupuncture, herbal medicine, or physical rehabilitation interest or experience

Our Culture & Values Our clients come to us because they're looking for more than a standard visit — and our team shows up every day to meet that. We believe in thoughtful, unhurried care, open communication, and genuinely investing in our people. Dr. Richter is personally invested in mentoring the right candidate — if you're someone who wants to grow past the edges of conventional veterinary medicine, with a team as committed to your development as they are to their patients, we'd love to connect.
