About the role

The Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, checking vitals, and assisting with clinical procedures and provider protocols. They also manage patient documentation in the electronic medical record, handle scheduling, and facilitate communication between physicians and patients.

This is a full-time benefited position working day shifts Monday through Friday.

Hours vary and are subject to change based on department needs, hours currently 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Rotating Saturday shifts are also required.

Your job duties: Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Requirements

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Experience/Skills/Qualifications: MA experience in an outpatient setting, preferably Primary Care or Internal Medicine Detail oriented Experience administering vaccines New grads welcome to apply!
