The Registered Nurse provides direct, compassionate care to patients in the emergency department by assessing needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. They also oversee patient care assignments, educate families on treatment plans, and maintain proficiency with clinical technology.
Serves as a clinical resource by overseeing patient care and delegating assignments based on patient acuity and staff competency. Provides direct emergency care, evaluates outcomes, and collaborates with providers to adjust care as needed. Coordinates care with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, effective treatment. Educates patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions. Maintains knowledge of evidence-based practice, emergency protocols, and hospital policies. Demonstrates proficiency with emergency department equipment and clinical technology. Communicates effectively, supports teamwork, and contributes to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. Uses strong triage, prioritization, and critical thinking skills to manage high-acuity situations. Participates in ongoing professional development and performs other duties as assigned.
Degree from an accredited nursing program Minimum ADN preparation required Current New Mexico RN license or eligibility through a Compact State RN license.
