About the role

The Radiologic Technologist supports the Operating Room by providing radiology guidance, performing various imaging studies, and assisting physicians with procedures. They are also responsible for troubleshooting equipment, maintaining sterile trays, and transporting patients between departments.

Responsibilities

Supports Operating Room by providing Radiology guidance for cases. Knowledgeable of all aspects of OR to include Radiology protocols and equipment. Provides on-call support for Operating Room by participating in mandatory call rotation. Trouble-shoots equipment related issues as needed and reports any issues as they occur to appropriate leadership. Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies. Performs imaging for myelograms and therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium. May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures. Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and In-Patient areas. Performs portable x-ray imaging as ordered.

Qualifications

Required: Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with various types of patients, visitors, physicians, and other personnel. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

  • Prior experience in diagnostic radiology. Prior experience in Operating Room procedures.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and registered by the ARRT. Certification in CPR and the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff are required.
